Many people came into 2013 with high aspirations and goals.  Some people have stepped into their ministries, some have started their own business, some are making plans to get married, some began new careers, and some are reaping financial blessings.

Sadly, some will end 2013 just like they have every other year, broke, busted and disgusted.  The reason will not be due to sin, or because they have gotten out of God’s will, but they will never fully realize God’s best for their lives because fear has paralyzed them from taking risk, thus creating a fear of failure.

God’s Word to you today is simply FEAR NOT!!

It is my desire that this message encourages you to take risk, trust God and walk into your blessing. I know that trusting God is never a risk for the true believer, however; lets examine what the Word says about dealing with the fear of failure.

Every one of us wants to be a success.  no one ever sets out to be a failure in life.  Theodore Roosevelt said “The only man who never makes a mistake is the man who never does anything.”  If we are to be truly blessed or be a blessing to the Kingdom we must overcome our fear of failing.

Many great figures in the Bible experienced failure, yet God used them mightily.  Peter failed Jesus in the judgement hall.  David failed God when he should have been in the battle, he committed adultery and murder and the list goes on and on.

What are we to do in 2013 to overcome our fear of failing? First, we must recognize where fear comes from.  2nd Timothy 1:7 tells us the “God did not give us the spirit of fear.”  If God did not give it to us where did it come from?  The spirit of fear comes from the enemy.  When you receive fear, you receive what satan has given you.

The second thing we must do is get closer to God.  the closer a person is to God the less fear their is in their life.  In contrast the more fear their is in a person’s life, the further away they are from God.

In 1st John 4:7-11 we see that God is love and He talks about the greater perfect love. Now, if God is perfect love or the greater love the closer we get to perfect love, the closer we get to God, all fear is cast out, this according to 1st John 4:18.

If we are to overcome our fear of failing, we must draw closer to God.

The third thing we are to do is to recognize that fear is faith in reverse.

Let me say there is good fear (reverence for God), and there is natural healthy fear (walking into traffic).  What is unusual about natural healthy fear is that humans are born with only 2 types of fear, fear of falling and fear of loud noises, if you don’t believe it watch a baby at work.  They have no fear.  That would lead us to believe that as we get older our fear grows faster than our faith.

God does not want you to fear.  “Fear Not” is listed in the Bible 365 times.  One time for every day of the year.

Don’t allow fear to stop you from doing what God has placed in your heart.

FEAR NOT!!!

The Word of God tells us that “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”  This is simply telling us that our faith in the things of God grows the more we hear and believe God’s Word.  If you need more faith read and study more Word.

The Word has a lesson in it for any situation you may face, but I believe the greatest lesson we can learn in the Word is “Who is Jesus Christ?” and “How does He impact my life?

We know He was born of a virgin and came to the world for one purpose and that was to die so that mankind could be reconciled back to God.

Almost all religions believe that Jesus lived as a man on earth, the arguments start when His birth is brought up.  We as Christians believe in His birth, death and resurrection which is a requirement of salvation and to live in paradise with Him. However; we can enjoy some paradise, some joy, some happiness here on earth if we would only do 2 things, 1)Believe His Word and 2) Stop trying to figure it out!

If you are going to experience the blessings of God in your life it is going to require you to “walk by faith and not by sight” in other words “your blessings will manifest when you believe the Words of Jesus simply because of who He is!

In the Book of John, chapter 14 Jesus talks about who He is:

Verse 1- Jesus is telling the disciples “If you believe in God believe also in Me.”  He goes on to tell them about the place He is preparing for them because He anticipates them being with Him.

As you read further Jesus continues on His teachings and in verse 6 we understand that because He gave up His life on the cross that was the way to God.  Because He did not contest the lies that led Him to the cross that made Him the truth and because He was willing to die, He became the channel of resurrection, the life to each of us! PRAISE GOD!

Jesus continues to teach “No man cometh to the father except by me.”  I mentioned in the beginning that almost all religions believe that Jesus existed and that He was a prophet, a man of God etc.  If other religions believe that Jesus lived and was a good man, an honorable man, a true man of God they would have to also believe that no other idol could lead them to God, because Jesus said “No man cometh to the Father except through Me.” So to everyone who believes there is another way, you can’t have it both ways, either you believe Jesus was an honorable honest and truthful man or you don’t.

The biggest confirmation of who Jesus is came from satan himself.  Read Matthew 8:28 – 29 and you will see that the demonic spirits called out Jesus and who He is!

Knowing that Jesus is the Son of God and our way to the Father, we can trust what He says concerning our lives in 2013!!!

When the Lord has spoken a Word into your life, your responsibility is to believe it and not try to figure out every little detail because when you do that you are leaning to your own understanding.  That’s why it’s important to know the Word for yourself.  2nd Timothy 3:16 says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, ” God said He cannot lie and that His Word would not return to Him void!!

When God gives us an instruction we may not understand how, when or why but because its Gods Word, don’t try to figure it out!!

(Read the 5th Chapter of Luke) We see that so many people were coming to hear Jesus teach, He asked Simon for the use of His boat.  Simon willing gave Jesus the use of his boat, expecting nothing and after Jesus was done teaching He told Simon to “launch out into the deep.”  Because Simon was a fisherman and had been out on the water all night, He reminded Jesus of that fact, however; because of who he knew Jesus was, he launched out into the deep.  Because of His obedience not only did he fill his boat, he had to call for a second boat.  He did it just because Jesus said “Do It”!!!

Its time for us to do 2 things 1) Stop trying to figure out how God is going to bless us and 2) by faith, launch out into the deep.

Your greatest blessing is waiting for you in the deep end of the pool.  Step out on faith simply because He said it.

Welcome to my blog.  You can probably tell I am finding my way around the “blogosphere” but I am determined to master it. I am a  Author, Entrepreneur and Motivational Teacher. Many people have asked me to share my messages with the world via blog so here I am.

I call my messages “Biblical Success Principles” because every message has its foundation in the Word of God.  I won’t bore you with a lot of information about me, however; I do ask if you like what you read here please leave a comment and if you are looking for a speaker for your conference, church, event, seminar or workshop please remember me.  Here is the very first message posted to my blog.  I hope you enjoy it.

The Secret Place

There is a place that god has prepared for each and every one of us.  Actually He has prepared two places for those who love Him.  In John 14:2&3 Jesus said “In my Father’s house are many mansions” that would lead us to believe that we have a place prepared for us in heaven. However; there is a place here on earth that we who love him can enter into and that place is “The Secret Place.”

In Psalm 91:1, the writer talks about “dwelling in the secret place of the most high.”  The first question to be asked based on this statement is “where is the secret place of the most high?”

When you talk about a “secret place” that’s usually a place where not a lot of people are familiar with.  A place that may be a public place but it is also an exclusive place.  Although we all have access to God almighty, we all don’t dwell in that “secret place” because that place is close to God.

As you read the entire chapter of Psalm 91 you will find in verses 1&2 the writer makes a statement about who God is to him.  In verses 3-13, he tells what it is like when “we” make God or refuge and our fortress when we enter into that secret place and verses 14-16 God gives us the promises associated with “The secret place.”

As powerful as this entire chapter is I want to bring your attention to “two lines” that I believe, when understood can change our lives.

In verse 1 underline “The shadow of the almighty” and in verse 14 underline “Because He hath known my name” without changing its meaning this can be read as “Because He hath known my name, he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high, shall abide under the shadow of the almighty.”  We have established that “the secret place” is a place close to God AND under the shadow of the “almighty”, you are living under the shadow of “El Shaddai.”

El shaddai means God almighty.  “El” points to the power of God himself, Shaddai is derived from another Hebrew word meaning “breast” which implies that “Shaddai” signifies one who nourishes, supplies and satisfies.  It is God “El” who helps, but it is God as “Shaddai” who abundantly blesses with all manner of blessings!!!

In the secret place under the shadow of the almighty you are living in abundance, a place where you have more than enough!

Can you live a life of “more than enough?” YES!!  In John 10:10, the second part of that verse tells us that in Jesus you can “live” and “live abundantly.”

“More than enough” means different things to different people.  You may have simple taste and desires or you may have grand taste and desires, your heavenly Father promised to give you the desires of your heart as long as they are in line with His will for your life, He wants to bless you with more than enough!!

What happens when we are living under the shadow of El Shaddai?  We already established that El Shaddai blesses abundantly (read Proverbs 10:22).  When we are living under the shadow of El Shaddai it makes us rich and there is no sorrow associated with it.  When we talk about being rich, we are not just talking about material things.  I believe 3rd John 2 is talking about this very blessing because it encompasses material, physical and spiritual blessings, a complete life of abundance!!

We serve a God that always wants to do over and above what we need.  In john 6:1-15, we see two miracles take place, 1)the feeding of the 5,000 (which was actually more because that number didn’t include the women and children), and 12 baskets remained.  God blessed them with more than enough!!

Jesus the man lived under the shadow of El Shaddai.  He took the little He had and didn’t murmur or complain but He blessed it and God multiplied it.

You may not have much today but if you are close to God, in that secret place, bless that little you have and watch God multiply it.  How do you bless it?  You dedicate it to God that He may get the glory.

If you consecrate the little you have to God He said “He is not a respector of persons” if He multiplied the little that Jesus had, He will multiply the little we have because we are now dwelling in “The Secret Place.”
